Gutterbloom is an original band established in Newquay, Cornwall, UK, in 2023, by Kate Babriela on bass and Bradley Burchill on guitar. The couple, initially a duo, are now joined by Sam Jenkins on acoustic percussion, to comprise a delicious trio of sounds with a folk-fabrique style that is heavily influenced by the "Kernofornian" surf tunes of yesterday. With a chilled, but still very danceable, upbeat vibe, and a primarily instrumental set, their songs feature a variety of swing tempos, latin-style guitar medleys, elements of funk and jazz, with touches of blues, rock and gypsy folk. Gutterbloom seems to be transcending typical genres with their distinct, original sound, and are pleased to find themselves appealing to multi-generational audiences, across a variety of shows and festivals around Cornwall and the South West. Their melodic, live performances conjure memories of summer beach days with the type of heart-lifting energy that invokes a feeling of golden hour at sunset.
